Charity Christian School
I. Our Purpose & Goal – The beliefs that we hold most dear and upon which we base our lives were being circumvented by the public schools. It was unrealistic to expect that a public school would or could teach and instill into our young people our Christian values. Because of this, Charity Christian School was founded. There are three basic goals that form the basis of our existence:
A. So that we as adults could pass our faith and beliefs on to our young people.
B. So that we could pass on to our young people the knowledge and wisdom they will need to function successfully in the modern world.
C. So that we may separate our young people from the influence of those who do not hold to our beliefs of faith and Christian living. We shall endeavor to provide an atmosphere that is conducive to Christian learning. We shall strive to be examples to our young people so that they can look up to us as role models for Christian living. We shall strive to provide a place that is separated from the world and dedicated to the Christian instruction of our young people.
II. Education Standard – On average, Christian school students test one to two grades above the national average. Our students will be held accountable for every assignment. Graduating to the next grade requires that a student be diligent in completing daily work and studying for quizzes and tests.
III. Curriculum – We have chosen to use Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E.) curriculum. This curriculum is academically sound as well as spiritually oriented. The Bible (KJV) is the hub of the student’s learning experience. The Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ do not replace academic subjects, yet they are the center core of the curriculum.
IV. Enrollment – Charity Christian School provides education for K-5 through the twelfth grade. Charity Christian School admits only children who are members of Ray Avenue Baptist Church or whose families are members of Ray Avenue Baptist. However, even then, new students must meet specified criteria for enrollment.
V. School Schedule – School begins on the 23rd of August. Students attend classes Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. There are no classes held on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays. The school year lasts thirty-six weeks minus holiday vacations. Parents are expected to attend scheduled Parent Teacher Meetings
